Is a unique training programme that presents ‘Teaching as a Craft’. It is a practical course that offers a comprehensive set of tools to enhance teaching performance and the ability to work with others.
The course is composed of three modules — Foundation, Consolidation and Finalisation - and it is structured into eight interlinking main themes:
The Foundation Module provides the base material from where to develop our craft as Teachers. It slowly unfolds, providing new layers of information at each consecutive step.
Building a "teacher state", introducing basic language skills, meddling with Group Dynamics and investigating some theoretical background ideas are the ingredients that support rich presentation skills — the main focus of this module.
It imparts the knowledge to "be out there" and provides participants with practical tools that they can use in their professional settings for better teaching performance.
The Consolidation Module works on building the confidence and dexterity with the material learned on the previous module. It allows time for more experimentation and review. It deepens the acquired theoretical knowledge and includes new, more advanced language skills.
Presentation is refined to higher levels with the introduction of voice training and basic non-verbal communication methods. Improvisation is encouraged throughout the module, while "teaching as a craft" is further explored by introducing new theoretical insights and a little bit of history.
Participants start to learn how to stucture academic material.
The Finalisation module provides the grounds that turn Craft into Art. Personal enquiry into the role of the teacher, self-reflection and congruency checks become the base for specific and individual teaching styles. Precise usage of language becomes a transformative tool for competent student endorsement.
Advanced non-verbal communication skills are interwoven in new presentation formats and improvisation becomes a natural way of dealing with unexpected situations.
Participants will gather the necessary experience to create well-structured lessons and to present them in ways that provide students with the best information uptake.
